The Stepkids comprised of a three-man band starting with guitarist Jeff Gitelman, bass player Dan Edinberg and drummer Tim Walsh. All three-band members are bonafide singers and songwriters. Their music a fusion of punk, jazz, West African, 1960s folk, neo and classic soul, classic funk and 20th century classical. They produce, engineer and record their own albums.

No stranger to music the individual band members went on to share stages with 50 Cent, Alicia Keys, Jaheim, Lauryn Hill, and even toured internationally with indie punk band Zox. The Stepkids have also scored movies and commercials.

Unlike most commercial bands, these three Connecticut-based artists put together a set of songs with each member having equal say in the creative process. Band member Dan Edinberg expressed in an interview, "Every step of the way was completely collaborative. We worked completely together. We wrote all the music together, we wrote vocal melodies together. We even wrote the lyrics together."

After their domestic tour, they will head overseas. First leg of international tour starts at Japan first week of November and then to Europe the latter half of November. At the beginning of the New Year, the band will make their way down to Australia.

You can see the band perform on Saturday, October 29, 2011 at 8:30 PM Pacific Standard Time. The band will perform at "The Echo" club located at 1822 West Sunset Blvd, Los Angeles, CA  90026. Ticket priced at $8 each but you must be 21 or over to attend.
